One of two things can take place when we are wrestling with something difficult that can cause weariness. God can either remove the burden or He can make you strong enough to carry it. For example, a construction worker that is new on the job might surprisingly find the heavy labor too difficult for him at the beginning. Does he ask his boss to reduce the workload or does he start to exercise so that he can get in shape and be strong enough to handle what is expected of him?
Should God take away every challenge we face, or should He supply us with strength to overcome the challenge? Should God disconnect us from all the difficult people in our lives, or should He unveil the power we possess to radically love those people beyond measure? He desires to show us who we truly are in Him.
God wants to make you bigger! Therefore, He does not always take away the “giants” before us, because He would rather unlock the giant-killer within us. To reign in life, we need God to reveal the greatest version of ourselves, to reveal the potential you and I are graced with. You are stronger, wiser, kinder, more patient, spiritually gifted, and more creative than you know. In many cases, it is in the waiting, in the weariness, where these strengths become visible.
"For our spiritual wealth is in him, like hidden treasure waiting to be discovered…" (Colossians 2:3 TPT)
